Oregon Performance Path Updates Scheduled for April 1, 2022

To align with other regional utility programs in Oregon, the following Performance Path updates will go into effect on Friday, April 1, 2022 with a new program name in AXIS called “Utility Incentive V3 – Single Family Performance Path”. These program update will be implemented with the following schedule:

  • Thursday, March 31, 2022: Last day Raters can submit homes in AXIS to “Utility Incentive V2 – Single Family Performance Path”
    • Note: Oregon Performance Path utilities will aim to certify all V2 homes submitted by this deadline within 45 days, by May 15, 2022
  • Friday, April 1, 2022: First day Raters can start entering new homes in AXIS to “Utility Incentive V3 – Single Family Performance Path”

1. 2022 User-Defined Reference Homes (UDRH)
Updated 2022 Oregon UDRH files and will be accepted in AXIS starting on April 1 and are now available for download here: betterbuiltnw.com/resources/2021-2022-user-defined-reference-homes-compatible-with-nwmr-v22-0

IMPORTANT: Working in alignment with the Energy Trust of Oregon EPS program, a small Oregon UDRH update was made to adjust the baseline ventilation assumptions for both the central and zonal UDRH files. The updated 2022 UDRH files have been updated and are available at the above link. If you previously downloaded the 2022 UDRHs, please delete those files and download the most recent version.

a. 2022 Oregon UDRH

The Oregon UDRHs have been updated to align with the 2021 Oregon Residential Specialty Code (ORSC)

2. Northwest Modeling Requirements V22.0 (REM/Rate v16.0.6)
The updated Northwest Modeling Requirements for 2022 is now available here: https://betterbuiltnw.com/resources/northwest-modeling-requirements-v22-0-rem-rate-v16-0-6 and should be used in conjunction with the updated 2022 UDRH files.

  • Note: V22.0 now requires the use of REM/Rate V16.0.6. For complete details on all the updates in V22.0, including improved modeling guidance, refer to page 4 for a summary of updates in NW Modeling Requirements V22.0 compared to the previous V21.1

3. Performance Path AXIS Calculator Updates (for non-heating/cooling savings)
In alignment with program updates prescribed by the Regional Technical Forum (RTF), the Performance Path AXIS Calculator for the new “Utility Incentive V3 – Single Family Performance Path” program in AXIS has been updated as follows:

  • Removal of savings for lighting and low flow water devices
  • Savings updates for water heaters, refrigerators, clothes washers, and clothes dryers
  • Addition of clothes washers
