Get ready for BuildRight 2026: Here’s what you can expect
The Home Building Association of Greater Portland hosts the annual BuildRight Conference + Expo, uniting high-performance building and remodeling professionals, Raters, designers, and industry leaders for two days of knowledge-sharing. This event is a valuable learning opportunity and worthwhile from a business strategy and development perspective for everyone in the industry across the Northwest.
This year’s theme, “BuildRight SellRight: From Permit to Purchase—Building Success at Every Step,” will focus on how high-performance design translates into stronger sales and happy customers. The conference will be held April 22–23, at the Redd on Salmon in Portland. To complement the conference theme, the keynote speakers represent two sides of the industry: design strategies and energy code education.
Discover the latest innovations in construction quality, energy efficiency, and design
Ben Bogie of BPC Green Builders, keynote speaker on April 22, will tap into his deep understanding of high-performance home design. His approach to projects strikes a balance between experimentation and field-tested methods, earning him industry recognition for healthy, high-performance, low-carbon homebuilding.
BuildRight attendees will gain insight into how BPC Green Builders homes achieve a high level of energy performance, meeting or exceeding three or more certified green home industry standards. While BPC Green Builders operates exclusively in Connecticut and New York, professionals in the Northwest can benefit from the lessons Bogie has learned during his 20 years of industry experience.
Stand out in today’s competitive market by pushing the limits of home performance
Steve McKanna, keynote speaker on April 23, is a mortgage professional and founder of The Home Building Energy Efficiency Academy (THBEEA). In addition to serving on National Association of Home Builders committees, McKanna trains builders, realtors, and loan officers on how to educate homebuyers on the benefits of energy-efficient, high-performance homes. His work also puts an emphasis on affordability.
THBEEA offers courses that help industry professionals navigate changing energy codes and grow their businesses. The organization also provides networking and educational resources, and helps businesses leverage code guidelines and energy scores to make homes more affordable.
McKanna’s keynote speech and other conference sessions will explore the market trends that connect home energy performance to stronger sales and more satisfied homeowners.
Other BuildRight session leaders and exhibitors will cover technologies and practices that push homes toward greater efficiency. Attending BuildRight is also an opportunity to get building code updates, develop your professional network, and source solutions to the challenges your business faces.
BuildRight attendees can earn Oregon Construction Contracting Board, RESNET®, and Realtor continuing education credits for joining sessions. Visit the Home Building Association of Greater Portland’s website for additional information and to register for this year’s BuildRight Conference + Expo.
